What would they look like if they became house?

  • Grey, sleek, co-ordinated, specific, designer
  • The apartment building that was built above the Prada store in the middle of the city always had its penthouse lights on every night at 5 o’clock pm, right on the dot, the warm glow of lamp lights would leak out and slow dance on the windows below. Sleek glass would shimmer and shiver depending on what the weather had decided to give that day. Sometimes, in the hating winter evenings you could look past the shine of glass and see the straight edges of the silver grey couches and sparkling white kitchen counter tops that seemed to run the length of the apartment. The carpet carried large, towering, black bookcases that held many novels and adventures, the golden globe at the very top shelf standing tall for all to see, it’s proud achievement of the top shelf shown plainly by its standing alone. White walls laughed and carried slight shadows down hallways to the bedroom, where leaping candles were the only source of light, the room seemingly welcoming yet lonely and drained of colour. Although the apartment was beautiful and stood wealthy among its opponents, it didn’t seem in the place that it wanted to be, above an expensive Prada store and surrounded by tall business buildings, always looking down at the world from a stark white pedestal. Nothing has worked to get rid of the little by little rust spots that appeared on the iron window frames, slowly tearing apart what keeps the apartment together, everything placed in its spot, specific and nothing less than perfect.
