The Kite Runner Essay

Analyse how specific events reinforced your understanding of one or more ideas. “Ideas” may refer to character, theme, or setting.

Introduction

The novel, The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, based in Afghanistan 1963 to 2001, follows a young twelve-year-old boy named Amir as he fights for his father’s approval, making mistakes and trying to manage the fatal consequences. This presents the idea of guilt overriding a person’s life when not confronted, and how it affects a person who hasn’t been offered redemption or forgiveness. The idea of guilt is shown through a phone call from Rahim Khan, Hassan’s rape, and the old pomegranate tree.
